Chopin's Full Works on Classic FM

 

 

In celebration of Chopin's 200th anniversary year, Classic FM are broadcasting performances of his most famous works.

In a major partnership with the Kings Place concert venue, Classic FM will broadcast recordings from this concert series in their entirety on The Full Works Concert.

The series begins on 1st March - the day when Chopin is widely believed to have been born back in 1810. From Monday to Thursday, John Brunning will present the opening four concerts which were held at Kings Place in February. They all feature the Polish pianist Martino Tirimo who, over the course of 2010, will play all of Chopin's piano works at the venue.

The second set of Chopin Unwrapped concerts at Kings Place begins on 10 March - so if you enjoy what you hear on air, don't miss the chance to experience the music of Chopin live in a few days' time.

DJ Target on BBC Radio 1Xtra

 

 

 

 

Tune into BBC Radio 1Xtra this Sunday 7th March as DJ Target takes over as the new host of 100% Homegrown, the weekly Sunday night show (7-10pm) wholly dedicated to championing the sound of UK black music.

100% Homegrown began at Radio 1Xtra's launch in August 2002 and has been highly influential through providing a live platform for new talent. Target takes over the hosting reins from Ras Kwame.

As a key member of pioneering UK Garage crews, Target comes aboard the show with first-hand knowledge of the UK black music scene and looks forward to continuing the musical legacy built by Kwame.
