Information
The world's first solar-powered DAB digital radio.
Price bracket £70 - £80
The stylish and compact solarDAB digital radio has all the benefits of DAB plus an added bonus of being environmentally friendly. This radio uses the suns energy to power the radio, therefore avoiding the cost and environmental impact of disposable batteries.
So how does it work? Simply place the radio in sunlight - or on a window sill and let the radio charge its re-chargeable batteries from the solar panels on the top of the radio. The radio can store up to 27 hours of radio listening in the re-chargeable batteries and does not have to be in sunlight to use it once the radio is charged. There is a level indicator on the display screen that shows the strength of the solar level being absorbed, if the level is over half the unit is being powered directly from the sun.
The solarDAB also has 10 station presets, soft touch rubberised controls, headphone socket and a mains adaptor should you need to power the radio from the mains.
The solarDAB comes in five colours (white, black, red, green and pink) and has a RRP of £79.99.
An energy efficient DAB digital radio as it uses power from the sun rather than the mains.
