Gaydio extends to Liverpool to cover the Pride Festival
To celebrate this year's Liverpool Pride festival, Gaydio will be adding a bit of sparkle by launching on DAB digital radio across Merseyside, North Wales and Cheshire. From 29th July the station will be heating up the airwaves for six weeks just in time to provide coverage for the annual Pride event. The broadcast will feature a number of shows presented from the local area.
Gaydio's service already broadcasts on DAB Digital Radio in London and Sussex and online through its website. The launch on July 29th will mean the station becomes accessible to over 15 million people and is the only terrestrial broadcast service aimed at LGB&T people in the country.
Toby Whitehouse, station Director of Gaydio says "we're so excited to be launching our Liverpool service. We already have a great following in Liverpool and have supported Pride for the past 4 years and this makes it easier for people across Merseyside to tune in. The huge footprint of our service, covering over 2 million people means that we will be welcoming many new listeners to the station."
Matt Deegan from digital radio operator MuxCo said: "We're always keen to provide more stations to our DAB listeners in Liverpool, Cheshire and North Wales. The great thing about DAB digital radio is it provides a place for new stations to reach new radio audiences. Gaydio's a brilliant station and we're excited to host them on DAB for the Summer".
