Absolute Radio Launches Free ‘Rock Off’ Mobile Gaming App

Absolute Radio has launched  'Rock Off', a free interactive Mobile Gaming app which tasks listeners to be the fastest to identify a song from a short clip or intro allowing them to show-off their knowledge and love of music from some of the world's biggest acts such as Aerosmith, The Killers and Coldplay.

The addictive Mobile Gaming game app for iPhone, iPad , iPad Mini or iPod Touch comes with 25 pre-loaded Free tracks and for an additional micro-payment of 69p, users can buy additional decade-specific song bundles, from core artists, some of which can be heard on Absolute Radio 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s.

Users can race against the clock and build up their own individual times or enjoy pass-and-play mode and compete with friends. The app is designed to be highly sharable - and scores can be shared via Twitter and Facebook or saved onto a leader board where app users can compare entries with others in the Absolute Radio Rock Off community.

Absolute Radio will continue to release more tracks and decade specific song bundles for users to update and challenge themselves with. These will include a special Absolute Classic Rock bundle.

Laura Tannenbaum Brand Marketing Manager Absolute Radio said "Our free Rock Off application drives engagement with the Absolute Radio brand, demonstrates our unique music proposition and raises awareness of the station's decade strategy"

The Absolute Radio Rock Off app joins the stations portfolio of mobile applications already used by over 500,000 regular active users. The brand continues to pioneer the radio app market with listen apps developed in-house, available on platforms including mobile, iPad and Smart TV. The brand also has an Absolute Radio Live Scores app from the stations Barclays Premier League commentary team which keeps fans up to date with all the football action.

Absolute Radio has also developed the Radioplayer app in association with the BBC and the rest of commercial radio to put all of UK radio in one place  and the station was also the first British radio brand to launch a listen app on the Xbox 360 in the UK last month.

The Absolute Radio Rock Off app is available now for iOS in the UK app store and was created and developed by Unique Interactive, part of the UBC Media Group.
