Yorkshire Radio gives listeners more live sport

Yorkshire Radio has extended the hours of live programming from its studio in Leeds and is now live on weekdays between 6am and 10pm and weekends between 10am and 6pm.

This extended live programming will provide Yorkshire sports fans with an even better service as the station follows the top sports events in the region including Football, Rugby, Racing and Cricket.

On top of increased live programming the station recently agreed a new commentary deal with the RFL to broadcast 50 live Super League games during the 2011 season and has signed a new two-year agreement with Yorkshire County Cricket Club to be the club's official media partner. Add this to exclusive Leeds United commentary on every first team game and Yorkshire Radio is living up to the billing as ‘Yorkshire's Sport Station'.

Station Director Ben Fry said: "The station is going from strength to strength and as we add more and more live sport we are getting bigger audiences listening to the station and hope that trend continues with increased live programming and new deals in place with the RFL and Yorkshire County Cricket Club."
